President to present national awards on drug prevention

The award ceremony on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking will take place at Vigyan Bhawan in the capital.

“The RUN against Drug Abuse’ will be flagged off by the ministers for the mass sensitization followed by a symbolic slogan march with police bands,” the ministry stated.

This year’s focus for the run is: “Let’s Develop Communities without Drugs,” the ministry added.

June 26 is marked as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Thus, this day was decided upon to award the exemplars. 

Campaigns and events are being held with a view to raise awareness against drug trafficking and abuse and also to mobilize support.
