Power supply to be affected in East Delhi, adjoining areas

The Delhi power department on Wednesday extended the period of planned load shedding in East Delhi for nine days due to the ongoing construction of Barapullah flyover Phase III.

“The construction agency — Public Works Department has requested for extension of the shut down up to April 25 from the earlier date of April 16. We are therefore extending the date of shutdown of this line,” said spokesperson of Delhi Transco Ltd, the public sector power company of the Delhi government. The project — Barapullah flyover Phase — III will connect Sarai Kale Khan with Mayur Vihar Phase III. The shutdown of the electricity line will affect power supply in East Delhi and North-east Delhi particularly in areas like — Gazipur, Mayur Vihar, Kondli, Gharoli, Dallupura, Patparganj, Madhu Vihar, Patparganj Group Housing Societies, Pandav Nagar, Shakarpur, Laxmi Nagar, Ghonda, Seelampur, Vivek Vihar, Dilshad Garden, GT Road Shahadra, Nand Nagari, Yamuna Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Guru Angad Nagar, Preet Vihar, Geeta Colony, Kailash Nagar, Kanti Nagar and adjoining areas.
