Power restored in Andhra, 300 experts in Odisha to normalise electricity

Power has been restored to almost all the areas, including villages, in the cyclone-hit Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, an official release said on Wednesday. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who reviewed the cyclone relief works, was informed that power has been restored this evening, an official release said.  Meanwhile, the Union power ministry said in New Delhi that more than 300 experts are being hired for restoration of electric supply in cyclone-hit Odisha. Vice-chairman of National Disaster Management Authority M Shashidhar Reddy said the 300 electrical experts are being arranged and being deployed immediately in cyclone affected areas in Odisha where there is no power since the cyclone Phailin hit on Saturday. ‘Works are on in war footing to restore power supply’ he said.
