Power distribution firms announce huge load shedding

Despite a clear warning from Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, the power distributing companies in the city have announced massive power cuts on Sunday and Monday in the name of maintenance work for 7-8 hours.

The longest power cuts have been announced by Reliance owned BSES-BYPL and BSES-BRPL which supply power to most of the areas of the city. The power cut in BYPL areas which distributes power in trans-Yamuna area will be 7-8 hours in most of the areas. The severly affected areas are Mayur Vihar, Krishna Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Pusa Road, Mandawali, Chandni Chowk, Daryagunj while BRPL areas Rohini, Moti Nagar, Shalimar Bagh, Narela and Civil lines will also be affected.

The TATA-owned TPDDL has announced three hours power cut in some areas for maintenance work. The areas like Saket, Vasant Kunj, Punjabi Bagh, Nehru Place and Palam will face three hours power cut on Monday.
