Poorvanchal leaders to discuss ‘neglect’ in BJP

The poorvanchal leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Parrty have called a mahapanchayat (general public meeting) to discuss the issue of the alleged neglect of the community leaders in ticket distribution in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. ‘BJP has completely ignored us by giving tickets to two D category seats in addition to repeating two sitting MLAs this time,’ said a senior BJP leader. In the meeting organised by the community on Wednesday, the ticket seekers Poonam Azad, wife of cricketer turned politician and BJP member of Parliament Kirti Azad, former MP Lal Bihari Tiwari, east Delhi mayor RN Dube, Mukesh Sinha, Sanjay Singh, Sanjeev Tiwari, Abhay Sinha, Anil Dube, and Santosh Ojha reportedly took part. The leaders claimed their candidature on 26 seats where the voters of the community are in large numbers — Vikaspuri, Dwarka, Matiala, Burari, Sangam Vihar, Badarpur, Patpargunj, Karawal Nagar and Ghonda.
