Political leader shot at in Greater Noida by four men; critical

A Lok Janshakti Party leader, who had fought Lok Sabha election as independent candidate earlier from Gautam Budh Nagar constituency, was shot at by unidentified assailants outside Luksar Jail in Greater Noida on Sunday. The victim was attacked when he was on his to city along with two of his friends.
He was admitted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where his condition was stated to be critical. Both friends escaped unhurt during attack. Police have registered a case but the accused are yet to be arrested.
According to police, the incident took place early morning when the victim, Manoj Pandit, along with two friends was returning from the jail after meeting one of his associates lodged in the jail. When all three persons were coming out from the jail, four assailants in a Swift car intercepted them and started firing. During the fire, two bullets pierced through Pandit’s chest and upper side of right hand.
Police said the personnel, who have been deployed outside Luksar Jail, reached the spot and took the victims to Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida.
