Police solve Vivek Vihar murder case with arrest of female relative

Within two days of the brutal murder of four people in east Delhi’s Vivek Vihar, Delhi police’s crime branch managed to arrest one of the accused involved in the heinous crime, while three accused are still on the run.

On Monday morning, four persons including a businessman who owned a rubber factory in Dilshad Garden were found murdered at the residence of the businessman identified as Bajrang Lal Bokadia (66) at A-2, Phase-II in Vivek Vihar. The three other were the servants of Bokadia identified as river Vinod Dubey (40), cook Bhola Singh (35), domestic help Anand Singh (18).

‘With the arrest of Mona Duggal (25), wife of Bokadia’s nephew the motive behind the quadruple murder has came out as robbery. So far no evidences have been found to believe the motive behind the murder was personal enmity,’ Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner of police (crime branch) said.
Delhi police on Wednesday released the sketches of the three absconding accused who have been identified as Harjeet (Bokadia’s cousin), Rajeev (maternal uncle) and Sanjay (Harjeet’s friend).
On the day of the incident, the house was found completely ransacked. The crime branch visited the spot and interrogated various suspected persons including relatives and visitors at Bokadia’s house.

During the course of the investigation, one of the relatives — Mona Duggal, resident of north-east Delhi’s Nand Nagri, due to her evasive replies became the prime suspect.
During sustained interrogation, she broke down and confessed her involvement that followed her arrest. Duggal also disclosed the involvement of three associates. ‘On Saturday, a recce was conducted by her when Bokadia was out of town to attend a religious function in Rajasthan,’ she told the officials.

On Sunday afternoon, when she along with her three associates hatched a conspiracy to rob Bokadia’s
house. When they reached the place Bhola Singh was in the house through whom all
four managed a friendly entry. He was immediately overpowered by all the accused. His mouth was taped and was tied.

The house was then robbed. Cash and jewellery from the almirahs of Bokadia’s master bedroom was looted. Meanwhile, Bokadia returned from Rajasthan, Mona opened the door and let him in. Few minutes later, his driver also came inside. The three absconding accused overpowered both of them one by one, taped their mouths and tied,’ Yadav added.

While they were on the job, another servant entered the house and he too became their victim. Mona further disclosed that after robbing the house, she along with her associates, murdered all the four persons by strangulating and slitting their throats and left the scene along with the looted booty.
When they were asked the reason behind the murders after robbing the house, she said that all the accused were known to all the victims and they were afraid of their identity being revealed if the victims survived.
