Police recover Rs 4.67 crore in daylight heist case

Recently, the cell arrested the kingpin in the crime act after he surrendered himself at Saket court on Friday. From all the arrested persons, around Rs 4.67 crore have been recovered.

‘As many persons were involved and the robbery was an organised crime, Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, (MCOCA) could be slapped on them,’SN Srivastava, special commissioner of police (Special Cell) said.

Shiv Shakti Naidu, the kingpin, is a school drop out and was involved in four known heinous criminal cases including dacoity and attempt to murder. He is a resident of Madangir and hails from Andhra Pradesh.

With the recovery of Rs 4.67 crore, few vehicles, including a motorcycle and a car purchased from the robbed money, have also been recovered. The other two accused who are absconding have been identified as Arjun and Amit who are the close aide of Pradeep alias Machender.

Pradeep was recently arrested from outer Delhi after Special Cell got a tip-off about his arrival at Sultanpuri area. During Pradeep’s arrest shoot out between the accused and police team took place with no gunshot injuries. On 28 January, the robbery was executed by eight persons near Moolchand flyover. Rajesh Kumar Kalra, a Delhi based businessman whose name was charge sheeted in Hansie Cronjie match fixing case was robbed of Rs 7.70 crore.

So far the arrested persons have been identified as Gulzar Ali, Praveen Kumar, Tilakraj Lohiya, Satish Tripathi, Joginder alias Johny, Ajay, Sunil Kumar alias Kake, sandeep Kumar, Shiv Shakti, Pradeep, Prem Singh, Haridas alias Pandey and one juvenile.
