Police officer’s son named in west Delhi rape case

A 26-year-old law student was allegedly raped by the son of a Delhi police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and his cousin in north west Delhi’s Rani Bagh area. The accused has also videographed the entire episode. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Atar Khan, son of the ASI and Mohammad Anam Khan his cousin. 

According to the police, the incident took place on 31 January and was reported to the police on 2 February. The victim came in contact with Atar through a social networking site. On the pretext of a birthday party, he called the victim at a hotel in Pitampura where he had booked a room as well. The victim in her complaint told the police that the accused offered her a drink laced with sedatives and then raped her inside the room. His cousin also misbehaved with her. The girl later ran out of the hotel. The accused reportedly started threatening her claiming that he had videographed the incident. 

On 2 February, she reached the hotel again and made a PCR call to the police. Her medical examination has confirmed rape.
