Police nab three highway robbers, recover truck

Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of inter-state highway robbers with the arrest of three persons in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Shahnoor (29), Mustakim (40) and Ajay (23) on Tuesday from Ali Mod picket and seized a stolen truck loaded with fodder worth Rs 3 lakh
from them.
'During the course of interrogation, the accused disclosed that first of all they identified loaded trucks and then followed the targeted vehicle in another truck. They always carried country-made pistols,' said a police official.
During interrogation, the trio also told the police that they had looted
the truck from Hapur in Uttar Pradesh.
They used to abandon the driver and helper after tying their hands and plugging their mouth with cloths in forest areas. Both the goods and the looted truck were then sold separately.
