Police nab smuggler, recover liquor

Delhi Police have arrested an accused for smuggling liquor from Haryana to Delhi and has recovered illicit liquor worth lakhs of rupees and the vehicle used for the crime. The accused has been identified as Guddu Kumar Yadav, 26, a resident of Rohini, Delhi. The police acted on a tip-off that huge quantity of illicit liquor would be smuggled to Sara Rohilla via Patel nagar. ‘A team was formed and a vehicle carrying illicit liquor was over powered and seized around 3 pm on 7 March’ told Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Additional Commissioner of Police. ‘On searching the vehicle, 42 cartons of desi liquor containing 50 quarters were seized long with the vehicle’, he added.
