Police looking for footage that captured attack on doctor

Three days after Dr Pankaj Narang was allegedly lynched by a mob outside his residence, investigators are looking for CCTV camera footage, which may have captured the attack. An official, privy to the investigation, said the police had so far obtained one footage captured by a CCTV camera installed near the victim’s house, which shows a group of around 12 persons loitering in a lane, in which Dr Narang, was attacked. However, the footage does not contain the visuals of the assault. Nine persons, including four juveniles and a middle-aged woman, who have been apprehended in the case, were identified with the help of the footage. The police have also approached owners of some offices in the area to gain access to CCTV cameras installed on their premises, the official said.
