Police issue traffic advisory for June 21

June 21 is the International Yoga Day and a mass Yoga demonstration will be organised by the Ministry of AYUSH at the Rajpath stretch between Rafi Marg and India Gate C-Hexagon. The entire area bounded by Teresa Cresent, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Outer Circle of Connaught Place (between Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Barakhamba Road), Bhagwan Dass Marg, Mathura Road , Lodhi Road, <g data-gr-id="13">Aurbindo</g> Chowk, Safdarganj Road, Kamaal Ata Turk Marg, Kautilya Marg and Sardar Patel Marg up to 11 Murti area, will be made out of bounds for general public between 2 am in the previous night till around 10 am on June 21.

NDMC teachers to hold yoga classes in parks
  The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has <g data-gr-id="32">deputed</g> yoga teachers working in its schools to hold free classes for citizens in its parks every morning.

The civic body has also identified six ‘yoga <g data-gr-id="30">sthals</g>’ in areas under its jurisdiction in <g data-gr-id="31">run up</g> to the International Yoga Day celebration on June 21.

“The education department of NDMC has <g data-gr-id="29">deputed</g> its yoga teachers to hold sessions at these parks from 6.30 to 8.30 am throughout the week. These sessions will be free of cost and will be open for all,” a senior NDMC official said.

“Taking the initiative of promoting yoga we have also identified six yoga <g data-gr-id="33">sthals</g> in our areas where everyone can experience yoga in the true sense of unifying body and mind amidst proper surroundings,” he said.

The identified spots include-Lodhi Garden, Sanjay Jheel in Laxmi Bai Nagar, Nehru Park, Subhash Park in Netaji Nagar, Talkatora Garden and Children Park at India Gate.

DU’s foreign students to be at Rajpath
 41 foreign students from the varsity are busy learning various ‘asanas’ in the run up to the Yoga Day function at Rajpath on June 21. 

“We are sending a contingent of 41 students belonging to 13 countries to participate in the function at Rajpath,” said Amrit Kaur Basra, Head of DU’s Foreign Student Registration Office (FSRO).
