Police fail to identify assailants involved in E Delhi murder

Even after 24 hours of intense investigation, police in the national capital have failed to identify <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the robbers-cum-murderers involved in the Mayur Vihar case.
The 38-year-old wife of a jeweller, Madhubala was on Thursday strangled to death, while two of her children were kept hostage at knifepoint. The robbers remained unidentified on Friday and are still absconding.
The robbers had reportedly entered the residence after introducing themselves as courier agents. Two of the robbers who knocked at the door, pushed the deceased and tried to rob the house. Meanwhile, the other two armed assailants took the two children — Himanshu (14) and Himanshi (9) as hostages to the other room.
When <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Madhubala tried to raise an alarm and attempted to oppose the robbery, one of the robbers strangled her to death. Madhubala’s husband Ajay Gupta told the police that around 50 kg silver (jewellery and coins) along with cash worth Rs 8 lakh was missing from the house.
‘The incident looked pre-planned as the robbers entered the house within half an hour of Ajay’s leaving for work. There is a possibility that someone known to them is involved in the act,’ an investigating official said. Ajay Kumar, <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">deputy commissioner of police (east) said, ‘We have recorded <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the statements of the two children, who witnessed the crime, and on the basis of their description, sketches have been prepared.’
