Police denies delay in action in Lodhi Garden molestation case

Commenting on the reports that Delhi police did not respond to the calls of a molestation victim on Monday, the department has claimed that the PCR van had reached the crime site within five minutes. A  34-year-old woman had alleged that she was molested in Lodhi Garden.

Delhi police has also denied the accusation that the PCR operator wasted time, struggling to understand the victim’s location. They said, ‘The conversation between the victim and the PCR operator lasted only  2 minutes, as is proved by our logs, which is a reasonable time to get details from a perplexed victim.’

Delhi police also denied that the victim forcefully took the accused in her luxury car and drove straight to Tuglaq Road police station. On the contrary, Delhi police clarified, PCR van V-28, headed by HC Nand Kishore,  transported the accused to the police station.

The department spokesperson said the PCR call was received at 6.29 pm, and it was transferred to New Delhi Zone immediately after the call ended at 6.31 pm. The PCR Van concerned was directed for necessary action at 6.32 pm and the same reached the spot at 6.37 pm.
