The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Monday filed a police complaint against Telugu film director Puri Jagannadh for allegedly spreading hatred among people through his latest release Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu.
TRS leaders, in their complaint with the Banjara Hills police station, alleged that the director was creating division among people along regional and caste lines. They also accused him of instigating students and sought action against him.
The row over movie starring Pavan Kalyan is continuing despite the film producer deleting objectionable scenes as recommended by a panel constituted by the Andhra government.
Film producer Dil Raju and director Jagannadh have appealed to the TRS to allow theatres to screen the movie as they had already deleted the objectionable scenes. However, the TRS is demanding a total ban on the film for allegedly belittling the movement for separate Telangana state.
TRS activists on Friday attacked some theatres in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
