PM Modi visits Jaitley at pvt hospital, city comes to a halt

The general traffic movement was severely affected as routes were diverted without prior planning and information and the commuters had a harrowing time.

According to sources in Delhi Police, Jaitley is admitted at MAX super specialty hospital in Saket. Modi visited the hospital at around 9 pm. The special branch of Delhi Police meant for PM route along with local cops were informed about the Prime Minister’s visit all of a sudden. For the same, the staff of Police Training Centre was deployed in major areas of south Delhi.

The top brass of south district police was also deployed at the hospital for security reasons. Vehicular movement in the area came to a halt as the Delhi Police traffic department had closed the roads leading to Saket. Commuters travelling via BRT in south Delhi were the most affected by the sudden diversion.

Commuters were stuck for almost a couple of hours in areas like Okhla, Nehru Place, Malviya Nagar, Saket, Chhatarpur, Shekh Sarai, Mehrauli. The auto-rickshaws outside Select City Walk mall were asked to leave the premises.

‘The visitors to see patients at Max were asked to vacant the hospital,’ a source claimed. Moreover, people who were in the mall were instructed to remain inside it while others were not allowed to enter the premises, the source added. ‘It took me two hours to reach my house in Chhatarpur. I was stuck for one and a half hours near Max hospital in south Delhi,’ a Ritu Raj, a commuter said.

‘To assure PM’s safety and security, the residents of Delhi are being victimized on a regular basis. It is the common man who suffers the most and pays a hefty price,’ another commuter sighed. It’s a total failure of Delhi Police including the traffic department who fails to man the unplanned traffic diversions in the city.

Recently, Delhiites were harassed in the month of August when PM Modi visited AIIMS for his first routine heart and eye check-up.
