Pleasant day in Delhi, Monday to stay same

Delhi experienced a pleasant day on Sunday as the minimum temperature rose to 12 degrees Celsius, much above the season’s average.

The Safdarjung observatory, considered the city’s official, also recorded traces of rain in some places in the last 24 hours.

An official of the MeT department said that the maximum temperature was registered at 19 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal while the minimum was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal. He also said that minimum and maximum humidity recorded during the day were 59 and 100 per cent respectively, adding that it was also partly cloudy sky throughout the day.

Foggy conditions were also witnessed in several parts of the city as visibility was recorded 500 meters till 8.30 am.

Several trains travelling northward were delayed due to fog, Railways officials said.
Six trains including JanSadharan Express, SaptaKranti Express and Brahmaputra Mail were cancelled, they said.

On account of foggy condition in the northeast region, Railways have already announced cancellation of 15 trains including Dibrugarh-Rajdhani, Ludhiana Shatabdi, Garhwal Express and Mahanada Express, till February 16.

Weatherman has predicted mainly clear sky in the national capital for Monday.
