Plane hits Kansas airport building at Wichita

A plane crashed into the flight safety building at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, the airport confirmed.

The plane is reportedly run by King Air and was down about 10 a.m. Central Time on Thursday. All people inside have been accounted for, according to local media.

Witnesses reported the plane down around 10 a.m. Central Time Thursday. The airport described it
as a small plane.

The King Air plane hit a flight safety building and left possibly 10 people trapped inside, KAKE-TV reported. KSN-TV reported that all people inside have been accounted for, however their condition is unknown.

It’s unclear how big the plane is or how many people were aboard. Black smoke and flames can be seen billowing from the crash site.

Flights are operating as normal, though a roadway is closed as emergency vehicles respond, the airport wrote on Twitter.
