Picasso’s forgotten gem on display

A rare collection of ‘forgotten’ ceramics by the artist Pablo Picasso, which has not been seen in public for 40 years, is on display in Uzbekistan. The ceramics were first exhibited in Tashkent in the 1960s, officials said, and were put in storage afterwards. It is not clear why it has taken the Tashkent’s State Arts Museum so long to re-display the items. Only a handful of staff were even aware that the museum had them. Art experts in Uzbekistan say they have no doubts that they are genuine, the BBC News reported. Staff at the museum said the 12 items are masterpieces owned by one of Picasso’s closest friends – French painter Fernand Leger and his wife Nadya.
