Kolkata’s hand-pulled rickshaws and trams represent the British heritage left behind. A rickshaw-wallah’s day starts early at 5 in the morning and ends late in the evening through a strenuous schedule, while the mere sight of Victoria memorial, Maidan and the clock tower at Esplanade, define the city’s vintage presence. Pilgrims resting before starting off to Gangasagar from the city are always a treat for the photographic eye.
