PFC quarterly net profit increases to Rs 1,117 cr

State-owned Power Finance Corporation (PFC) on Wednesday posted a net profit of Rs 1,117 crore for the third quarter of this fiscal (2012-13) against Rs 1,108 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.
The total income from operations rose to Rs 4,465.37 crore from Rs 3,282.35 crore in the same period last fiscal, Power Finance Corporation said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company’s expenses too zoomed 63 per cent to Rs 2,955.68 crore in the third quarter, from Rs 1,810.23 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Power Finance Corporation is engaged in funding power generation, transmission and distribution projects. Shares of the company closed at Rs 206.70, up 1.50 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
