Paswan’s son-in-law revolts over ticket denial

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s son-in-law Anil Kumar Sadhu on Saturday raised a banner of revolt against him over the denial of a ticket in the Bihar Assembly elections and announced his decision to field Dalit Sena candidates in all districts to defeat NDA nominees.

The furious son-in-law held an emergency meeting of all district presidents of Dalit Sena, of which he is the president, and has decided to burn Paswan’s effigy on Sunday to protest against the way tickets were distributed in the party. Dalit Sena is an organisation of the weaker section launched by Paswan.

Sadhu, who wanted to enter the fray from Kutumba (reserved seat in Aurangabad district), breathed fire over the seat allotted to former Chief Minister and Hindustani <g data-gr-id="23">Awam</g> Morcha (HAM) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi’s son Santosh Kumar Suman. Sadhu said he was not given a ticket though Paswan’s younger brother Pashupati Kumar Paras and Prince Raj, son of Ramchandra Paswan another brother of the LJP chief were given tickets.

“But, my claim has been given a damn despite the fact that I had got 53,000 votes from Masaurhi seat in 2010 election,” said Sadhu. He said his wife would join him in opposing the LJP chief and campaign against NDA nominees across Bihar. The Dalit Sena chief alleged that money played a key role in ticket distribution in LJP and blamed Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan of favouring people who had allegedly “killed or attacked <g data-gr-id="21">dalits</g>”. Launching a scathing attack at Paswan for having forgotten his <g data-gr-id="22">caste-men</g>, he said: “Paswan gets restless when a Paswan touches his feet.”
