Passenger train’s engine catches fire, none hurt

The engine of Delhi-Rewari passenger train caught fire at the Patel Nagar railway station on Tuesday morning. According to the fire officials, no casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.
“We received a call at around 9.21 am on Tuesday that a fire has broken out in the engine of the Delhi-Rewari passenger train which was stationary at the Patel Nagar railway station. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. We were able to control the fire in 30 minutes,” said a Delhi Fire Service official.
“The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident,” added the official. In a separate incident, a major fire broke out in a scrap godown in Paschim Puri area of Paschim Vihar.
According to the fire department official, they received a call around 3.24 pm that fire has broken out in the godown. As many as 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
“The cause of the fire is probably a short-circuit in the godown. Within one hour we were able to control the fire. No casualties have been reported so far,” said a Delhi Fire Service official.
