Park Hotel’s bar tender, bouncer arrested for molesting woman

Sources said that on Saturday night, at around 10 pm, the 28-year-old woman, who runs a salon in Ghaziabad came to the Park Hotel in Connaught Place along with her group of friends for drinks.

 

The group was sitting at the bar and was served the first round of drinks. However, when the second round of drinks was served, the complainant pointed out to the bar tender, one of the accused, that there is something wrong with the taste of her drink.

To which, a heated argument followed between her and the bar tender as she started creating nuisance and was saying that she will complain to the higher authorities of the hotel.

According to an officer privy to the investigation: “When the heated argument between the woman and the waiter escalated as her group of friends joined in, a bouncer was called in as she was creating nuisance at the bar. 

When the bouncer came to take the woman and her friends out of the hotel, she alleged 

that he started touching her inappropriately, misbehaved with her and even hurled abuses at her.”

Sources said that it was only when one of the friends of the complainant made the PCR call that local police rushed in at the hotel and apprehended the bouncer and the bar tender.

Police said that a case under Sections 354A(Sexual Harassment), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation)and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the Connaught Place police station against the accused. Further investigation is underway.
