The All India Parent’s Association (AIPA) has demanded changes in the draft bill of Delhi School Education Act 1973. The association demanded a minimum 50 percent representation of parents in the
Managing Committee of an unaided private school in Delhi.
According to the association, this demand has been made in the light of the fact that private schools hike fees every year arbitrarily and exorbitantly, the consequences of which are borne by parents.
“In order to effectively check commercialisation in education and enhance the overall quality of education, it’s necessary that the parents should have an effective say”, said Ashok <g data-gr-id="19">Aggarawal</g>, president, All India Parent’s Association. AIPA suggested that the unaided schools may be allowed to increase any kind of <g data-gr-id="20">fee only</g> with the prior approval of the fee committee.
