Pakistan bars vote-seeking on religious grounds

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sunday barred the candidates in the general elections from seeking votes in the name of religion or sectarianism, Geo News reported. The country is scheduled to undergo to general elections 11 May.

Issuing fresh directives, the Election Commission declared that driving out the voters from the polling stations would be treated as a crime, and providing free of cost transport facility would be a punishable act.
