Pak national with fake documents arrested from Ghaziabad

The Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) of Ghaziabad Police has nabbed a Pakistani national, who has acquired property worth crores in the country with forged documents.

The police have seized fake voter identity card, ration card, driving license, Aadhar card and property documents worth crores from his possession. The accused was living in India on long term visa, but was working as property dealer in the western Uttar Pradesh.

The police officials said that Mohammad Idreesh (70), a Pakistani national, has been living at Nahal village in Masoori area of Ghaziabad since 20 years. ‘He has somehow arranged fake documents of his residence. He has also purchased property worth crores, inluding 30 bighas of land, in the country,’ said a police officer. He further said that Idreesh has applied for citizenship of India as he has been living here since couple of decades.

‘As we got information that Idreesh is a Pakistani national, we conducted search at his house. During investigation, it was discovered that he has purchased properties without seeking permission from government, which is mandatory for foreigners.We have booked him for forgery under Section 420, 467 and 471 of IPC. We are also trying to get more details and his family members,’ the officer said.

Meanwhile, police informed that Idreesh’s father was in Indian Army before the partition and had moved to Pakistan during partition. A few years later, his father Nazar Mohammad along with other family members came to India and started living here on visa with regular extension. He has been living in Nahal village with his wife and children.
