In an unfortunate incident in Burari, a tea vendor lost his life in an accident where a speeding PCR hit him in North Delhi’s Burari area on Friday night. The cops have registered a case of causing death by negligence.
36-year-old Shiv Yadav, a tea vendor by profession, was returning to his home in Hardev Nagar with his cart when an overspeeding PCR van hit him. According to sources, the collision was so strong that the PCR even hit a barricade and overturned. Shiv Yadav was badly injured in the accident. He was rushed to the ISBT Trauma center but could not be saved. According to a police source, there were two policemen in the PCR who also received injuries.
The locals claimed that the PCR was on a wrong side at the time of the fatal accident but the cops say otherwise.
When Millennium Post contacted the North DCP Jatin Narwal and asked him about the incident, he said: “It appears that the PCR was going on the right lane only.”
It seems the involvement of a police PCR in the fatal accident has made the cops more cautious and they are not sharing much details about the accident. The cops say that they are investigating the case.
The wife of the deceased demanded justice for the death of her husband.
“What was the fault of my husband? Those who are responsible for his death should be punished,” says an inconsolable Meena, wife of the deceased. An eyewitness of the incident also alleged that the cops were inebriated at the time of the accident. The cops are investigating the claims.
The police have registered a case under Section 304 A of the IPC. No formal arrests have been made so far.
