Over 800 drivers fined under special drive by police

Delhi Police prosecuted more than 800 drivers for violating traffic rules, police officials said Sunday. In a drive that started on Saturday evening and continued till 1 am Sunday, a total of 247 drunk drivers were prosecuted and as many as 44 vehicle owners were fined for allowing drunk drivers to be at the wheels of their vehicles.

Overall, 825 violators were challaned. These include 259 for dangerous driving, 73 for red light jumping, 47 for permit violation and 50 for no-entry violation.
