Over 5,000 centurions in Gujarat voters’ list

Over 5,000 voters in Gujarat assembly polls were more than 100 years old, the Election Commission said here on Monday, citing the state government records.
The government had identified around 5,574 voters who were 100 years old, an official said, adding that the total number of electorate was 19.8 million.
A record voter turnout at 70.2 percent was witnessed in the state’s two-phase polling, whose last round ended Monday, Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath said.
The results would be out on Thursday.
