Over 2,000 dogs vaccinated in NDMC’s anti-rabies camp

Over 2,000 dogs have been vaccinated as part of the North Delhi Municipal Corporations’s anti-rabies drive in the capital, officials said on Thursday.

‘A total of 2,206 dogs (pets and stray) were vaccinated under the ‘Anti-Rabies Vaccination Camp’ organised by Veterinary Service Department, Civil Lines Zone at Baba Khimam Singh Park in Ashok Vihar area,’ a NDMC statement said.

‘While 253 dogs have been vaccinated for prevention of rabies, 1,953 dogs were vaccinated under the door step programme at various sites of Ashok Vihar I, II and III, Wazirpurur JJ Colony, Bunkar Colony, Bharat Nagar, Model Town, Rohini, New Police Lines among other places’, additional commissioner (DEMS) Deepak Hastir said.

‘Besides, 110 dogs were registered with the veterinary service department of Civil Lines Zone and 89 dog tokens were issued to dog owners during this camp,’ Hastir said.
