Opposition BJP termed the Delhi budget 2013-14 disappointing and announced a protest at the Delhi Electricity Regularity Authority (DERC) headquarter on Thursday.
‘Its the most disappointing budget. The chief minister has once again deceived the people of Delhi,’ said Vijay Kumar Malhotra, leader of opposition in Delhi Assembly. He further added that CM has only enumerated her promises, promises that she has been making for the past 15 years. She has not given any relief to the people suffering under the hiked rates of power, water, stamp duty, food prices, and LPG.
Reacting to the budget, Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said the budget deceives the people of Delhi. ‘The government has already increased the charges of water, power, sewer, circle rates, registry fee, court fee and now the Chief Minister claims to present a no tax budget. It’s actually a mockery of the sentiments of the people of Delhi. People were expecting some relief from the swirling prices of goods and services in Dehi. The government must decrease power charges and benefit the common man from the Rs 30,000 crore it has earned from the privatisation of the power sector,’ said Goel.
