Opposition raise protests against tenure extension of toll tax contractor

In another violation of the rules, the SDMC had also extended the tenure of toll tax contractor without notifying the house. The contract was supposed to end on 16 May. However, it was extended for six months rather than inviting new tenders.  The civic officials reasoned that the tenure was extended since the concerned officer was out of station on election duty. Meanwhile the opposition have alleged that the contractor is the brother of a senior BJP leader.
