Opposition questions CM's meet with HM

Leader of Opposition in the House, VK Malhotra on Wednesday raised objection on Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit meeting with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, regarding the issue of proposed transfer of 27 high-ranking officials of the Delhi Government.

Malhotra, on the third day of the session in a Call Attention motion, lamented that CM, without informing the House, met Home Minister and gave interviews to media persons regarding her meeting. He even wrote a letter to secretary of Vidhan Sabha to intervene in the matter.

The letter states, 'Transferring of senior officials by Home Minister in the Delhi government without asking Delhi CM and transferring of senior MCD officials without asking Mayor of the Corporations is a matter of concern and CM and House should look after the issue.'

The purpose of the meeting was that the CM wanted to retain these officials, as the Delhi government is now pressing forth with a lot of social and infrastructure development works.

Sources said Dikshit also demanded that they be allowed to continue to serve in Delhi itself.

Malhotra also raises his voice against the CM's request to Home Ministry to defend New Delhi Municipal Council's former chairman Parimal Rai from CBI investigation.

Meanwhile, water was another major issue which once again was raised by BJP MLAs. Dharam Deo Solanki, MLA from Palam constituency said, 'In my constituency there is not a single drop of water for residents. Naseerpur, Dwarka, Sonia Vihar are some of the areas which are worst affected. CM should answer to us'.
