Online registration of DU undergraduate students from today

Setting admission process in motion for almost 56,000 aspirants, the Delhi University (DU) will kickstart its online registration from Tuesday noon. The DU administration on Monday announced “only online” registration for admission in its Undergraduate (UG) courses for session 2016-17. The processes of registration will begin from June 1 and it will end on June 19 midnight.  The first cut off list will be announced on July 27 and the period of admission will be of three days from the day cut off comes. The admission process of DU will be concluded on August 16 of this year.  

“The eligible candidates are informed that the registration process for the UG courses will be completely online for the admission of sports, extracurricular activities, Kashmiri migrants, and CW (defense) category,” the statement of DU registrar reads. “The candidate will be required to upload their self-attested documents online,” it further reads. The University has also prescribed the documents required to be uploaded by applicants. The list includes certificates of class X and XII, migration certificate if needed, character certificate, caste/tribe certificate.  

The University will come out with only five cut-off lists this year, unlike previous years when the varsity came out with nine or even 10 cut-off lists. After five cut off if seats remain available, students will have to re-register with the college he or she wants to join. On the basis of merit, colleges will take the final call about admission.

In order to remove hassles during the registration process the University has install multiple digital check facility and it would also provide help with its Dean of Students Welfare office located on South and North campuses. 

The ‘Open Days’ to guide the students and parents about the admission process will be held from June 6 and it will conclude on June 11 with its last session on DU’s South campus.
