ONGC official held in graft case

The CBI on Tuesday arrested a Deputy General Manager (DGM) of ONGC in Assam, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor for releasing security deposit of the work done by him. CBI sources said MR Loachan, posted as DGM (civil) and Maintenance, ONGC at Sivasagar (Assam) was caught red-handed.

“A case has been registered against the DGM. The complainant alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe from him for releasing the security deposit that was refundable after the completion of work. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant,” a CBI spokesperson said.
