ONGC CMD Sarraf to energise Indian sports

ONGC CMD Dinesh Kumar Sarraf has taken over as President of the All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB). Sarraf took over from Dr A K Balyan, former MD & CEO of Petronet LNG, at the 5th Executive Board meeting of the national body, held in New Delhi. The All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board is a national sports organisation established to promote, aid, assist and organise sports, all kinds of indoor and outdoor games, cultural activities, social activities, fine arts in the country’s public sector undertakings (PSUs) with a view to promoting the health and welfare as well as recreation of their employees and their families. 

It holds, sponsors, organises, arranges facilities for tournaments, coaching camps, exhibition matches, sports and cultural activities, indoor & out door games. Representatives of other member PSUs like IOC, LIC, Bhel, FCI, EPFO took part in the meeting. During the meeting, AIPSSPB Executive Vice-President D D Misra outlined his thoughts to the Board on diversifying the activities of the sports body. 

The new President, D K Sarraf, appreciated the Board’s activities and emphasised induction of more members to participate in Board events and leverage the Board’s contribution in promoting sports among PSUs.
