ONGC celebrates I-Day

‘Sustained growth’ will remain a priority agenda for the country. And being the largest energy player in India, this agenda automatically translates as our biggest responsibility. We are confident that we will be able to discharge this responsibility to the nation as we have a legacy of continued excellence.’

ONGC chairman and managing director (CMD) Sudhir Vasudeva said this in his inaugural speech, while addressing large gathering of ONGC workers, teachers schoolchildren and journalists at  Ambedkar stadium on  Independence Day, here on on Thursday. The spellbinding display by the brass band of IMA and pipe band of Gorkha regiment was the major attraction of the show.

Before the speech, CMD Sudhir Vasudeva hoisted the national flag and thereafter inspected the parade where the contingents of CISF, ONGC security, Fire Services, Bhootpoorva Sainik Kalyan Nigam, Kendriya Vidyalaya, BS Negi MPPS and ONGC staff marched with fervour. He said, ‘In such periods of crisis, it is vitally important to extend whatever help possible and contribute in any form to the collective efforts to tide over the adversity.’
