One dies, two hurt in scuffle

One man was killed and three injured in a clash between two groups in Greater Noida on Thursday night. The injured have been admitted in Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida and are reportedly out of danger.

The dispute, which started over teasing of a woman, led to the scuffle between the group of men from Ghori Bachera village and the residents of nearby Kanshi Ram Awas Yojana. It turned violent when the villagers came back with pistols after some time and opened fire on the other group. ‘The initial investigation reveal that the dispute started over teasing of a girl from the colony. Apparently, the residents thrashed the villagers. In retaliation, the villagers opened fire,’ said Arvind Kumar, deputy superintendent, Dadri circle in Greater Noida. ‘Adequate police force and PAC have been been deployed in the colony and the village to prevent any further clash between these two groups,’ added Kumar. In the firing, Wali, 30, died on the spot while Danish, 15, Monish, 13, and Sahabuddin, 34, received bullet injuries. They were rushed to Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida.

The residents of the colony caught one of the assailants named Pradeep, 25, and handed him over to the police and named over half a dozen persons in the police complaint. The police so far, have arrested two more villagers in their mid-20s, named Kalu and Bipin.
