One dies, 4 injured as rival groups clash over property

A 20-year-old youth was killed while four others, including a three-year old child, were severely injured in firing between two groups of a same family on Sunday evening in Sarfabad  village in Sector 49, Noida.  

Police said that both the groups fought over long-term property dispute. The groups, belonging to Yadav family, fired at each other and pelted stones that led to tensions in the region. 

Huge police force has been deployed there as the region has witnessed communal clashes in the pas and is considered one of the most sensitive area of the city. According to police, the incident took place at around 7 pm on Sunday when Mahendra Yadav and his son Sachin scuffled with his brothers Surendra Yadav, Munendra Yadav and Swarna Yadav. As it was a long-pending dispute, both the groups started fighting. As scuffle turned violent, both the parties started firing and in the meantime, Aashish, a Nepali national working as servant at Sunder Yadav’s house, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot. 

Four other persons from both sides suffered bullet injuries and were immediately taken to the district hospital where condition of two, including the child is stated to be critical.

As news spread in the region, police immediately rushed to the spot. Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was also deployed in and around the village to avert any untoward incident. ‘We have beefed up the security and have booked several people in this connection. The body of Sachin has been sent for postmortem examination and the injured have been admitted to the hospital. We are identifying the persons who were involved in fracas and arresting will be made soon,’ said a senior police official of Noida Police.

It is important to mention that Sarfabad has witnessed three incidents of major clashes in the past one year period.
