One dead, five injured as bus crushes waiting passengers

One man died and five others were severely injured as a speeding bus crushed passengers waiting at a bus shelter in Noida’s Sector 37 area on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the incident took place during rush hour at around 10 am when dozens of passengers were waiting for bus at sector 37 bus stop.
The deceased has been identified as Sheetal Prashad (36), a resident of Santkabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh and was currently living in Lagpat Nagar in New Delhi. Other passengers - Dinesh, Barad, Ramesh, Surajpal and Govardhan got critically injured and have been admitted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kailash Hospital in Noida.
Police said the speeding bus, which was going towards Noida from Dadri, rammed into the bus stop. The driver of the bus lost his control over wheels while coming out from the pump.
The driver immediately fled the spot leaving the bus at the crime scene. Police have seized the bus and registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the unidentified bus driver at Sector 39 police station.
Meanwhile, the body of deceased has been sent for postmertem examination and his family have also been informed about the accident.
