One arrested after clash over land dispute in Raj

A man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a group clash which left 4 persons dead and seven others injured in Nagaur district of Rajasthan.
“One of the accused identified as Ramkumar was arrested on Saturday while others are absconding and being searched,” SP Nagaur Raghvendra Suhasa said.
Four persons three from Dalit community and one from Jat community-- were killed on Thursday in a land-related old dispute in Dangawas village of Merta city town.
The supporters of Kanaram Jat and Ratna Ram Meghwal armed with sharp edged weapons and guns clashed with each other, SHO Merta City Nagaram said.
While Rampal died of a bullet shot, three others--Ratna Ram, Pokar Ram and Pancha Ram received injuries by other weapons and died, he said.
“Investigation reveals that Rampal was first shot dead by a member of Dalit community when he had gone to hand over them summon of a community panchayat which was convened to resolve the dispute,” the SHO said. He said that the murder provoked the Jat community which resulted in the group clash that left two others dead on the spot and eight injured.
