Ola cabbie thrashed by six African nationals

According to the police, the incident took place at around 4 am in the Rajpur Khurd area when the cab driver, Nooruddin Ali, denied to carry six persons. The group included four men and two women.
Talking to media at the Mehrauli police station, Nooruddin said: “My cab was booked for a journey from Rajpur Khurd to Dwarka. However, before they were about to sit in the cab, I told them that they cannot board the cab as it is against the law to ferry more than four passengers. When I showed them the traffic rule booklet, they threw it away and in a few seconds, they started beating me up.
“I somehow managed to get hold of one of the women who was beating me. The others ran away from the spot. I then called up the police,” Nooruddin added.

According to the police, they received a PCR call from Nooruddin who told them he had been beaten up by some African nationals. He was then rushed to AIIMS Trauma Center where he received six stitches.

“One woman was caught on the spot. We are trying to identify the other five people involved in the case. The cab driver also reported that he was robbed of his money. We will be registering a case under appropriate sections of the law,” said Ishwar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
Meanwhile the cops arrested the 26-year-old woman of Rwanda who was caught for for thrashing the driver. The accused has been identified as Kefa.

The attack comes a day after the Delhi Police had arrested five people and apprehended a juvenile in connection with alleged attacks on more than a dozen African nationals with cricket bats and sticks in Mehrauli area last week.

Denying it to be racial attacks, Delhi Police had cited playing loud music during late night and drinking liquor in public places, as the reasons behind the scuffles between the locals of Mehrauli and African nationals, in which a Nigerian national had suffered minor injuries.

Earlier this month, a 23-year-old Congolese national Masonda Ketada Olivier was beaten to death by three men over hiring of an auto-rickshaw in Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi.
