Canvases of a retired Chief Artist from Archaeological survey of India is to be exhibited which spans the various shades of life. Hues is open from 10 March to 16 March at Rabindra Bhawan of Lalit Kala Academy.
Lalit Jain, born in 1933, started his career in a small printing press in Old Delhi. Then he was appointed by the Archaeological Survey of India to illustrate their findings for a short term. Later finding a permanent position with ASI, he drew inspirations from his travelogue. In 1963, he received a diploma in Art from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. He sought his inspirations from the sculptures of Mathura, Kajuraho as well. Many of his paintings found place at the National Museum, New Delhi.
