NSA slapped on Sangeet Som

The Uttar Pradesh Police has slapped National Security Act (NSA) against BJP MLA Sangeet Som, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in fake video uploading case and making provocative speeches during Mahapanchayat.

Muzaffarnagar district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that Sangeet Som was detained under NSA by the district authorities. The warrant under the NSA was served to the BJP MLA in Orai district jail, he said.

The BJP MLA was accused of uploading a fake video that played a role in provoking communal tensions in Muzaffarnagar and making inflammatory speeches.

Meanwhile, BJP legislature party leader Hukum Singh, who is also an accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots criticised the UP government for invoking of NSA against Sangeet Singh Som.
