NRHM doctor found dead in car, suicide suspected

The police have recovered a suicide note from the car of the victim, who was posted under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Greater Noida. However, they are investigating the case from other angles too. 

The police received a call regarding a death in a WagonR car near a mall around 5 pm. When the police reached the spot, they found Dr Kapil Bhati lying dead on the rear seat of the car with a pistol in his hand. He was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. 

“As he (Kapil) was an NRHM doctor, we are probing the matter from other angles too. We are scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the area. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide as we have recovered a suicide note from the car,” said a police official.

The police have handed over Bhati’s body to his family members,  living in Sector 15. The police said Bhati’s post-mortem examination had been conducted and they were awaiting the report.
