A day after inclusion of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shazia Ilmi into the BJP, former MLA Vinod Kumar Binny on Sunday joined the party. Leaders from other parties like former BSP state president Chaudhary Braham Prakash, Congress leader from Shalimar Bagh Ram Kailash Gupta also have joined the saffron brigade. Binny had met Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay on Saturday, triggering speculations that he might join the party.
“ I Had joined AAP but, at the time I came to know that was a mere drama. AAP is responsible for emotional blackmailing. They use people... I thank the BJP for giving me this honour. Vision of Narendra Modi-led NDA government is doing great job that attracted me to join the party ,” said Binny adding that he will leave no stone unturned in ensuring victory as a dedicated party soldier.
“Binny has been actively involved in social activities and has lots of experience too. He was part of Anna’s (Hazare) movement. Binny was the first to raise voice against the undemocratic way in which AAP functioned following which he was forced to quit,” said Satish Upadhyay.
Meanwhile, amid speculations that former IPS officer Kiran Bedi would be projected for the top post, she convened a meeting with all seven member of parliaments from Delhi on Monday. Although the party officially refused to reveal what transpired in the party but sources claimed that the leaders discussed poll strategy before announcing Bedi’s name as CM candidate.
