Now mobile dental clinics for your oral health

In order to improve accessibility to oral health services in the national capital region, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences has launched six Mobile Dental Vans (Two Mobile Dental Clinics and Four IEC Dental Vans) under the National Health Mission programme.

The event was launched by Najeeb Jung, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. This is the first mobile dental initiative in the country, which will not only improve the utilization of dental services, but also lay the platform for the integration of health systems with the larger public. ‘The government has resolved to launch the National Health Mission to carry out necessary architectural correction in the basic dental health care delivery system. Hence it is necessary to target special groups like children, geriatrics and pregnant and create dental health awareness,’ Najeeb Jung said. Dr. Mahesh Verma, director principal, Maulana Azad Medical College said that such outreach programmes will initially target Delhi’s north east district. It would provide comprehensive treatment like emergency care, preventive care, routine curative care and necessary referrals.
