Notorious gang leader, associate arrested

The alleged leader of the infamous Mogli Gang, which is involved in several cases of robbery, burglary, theft and drug-peddling particularly in South Delhi, along with an associate was arrested by a police team, police said on Saturday.

The accused were identified as Sahid Ali (22), alias, Mogli, and Kuldeep Saini (22). Based on a tip-off, the police team laid a trap on June 16 and waylaid them in South Delhi’s RK Puram area, where they approached in a stolen motorbike. The police later recovered as many as five stolen motorbikes and three expensive mobile phones from their possession, said a police official.

Mogli was once arrested previous year and sent to Tihar jail. He later got bailed in March 2015. Inside the jail, he reportedly strengthened his gang and emerged out even stronger, joined by a few more like him, after release on bail, police added.
